Some brides/friends/family have been asking me, what exactly does recycled&LOVED do? What does it mean, you style a shoot or event? Isn't that the same thing as coordinating it?
Not at all! Coordination of an event is all about making sure the right people are in the right places at the right time. This is VITAL for a wedding or large event, and you really need to make sure (as a bride) that you trust your coordinator 110%.
Coordination, however, is not what I do. I am all about the overall vibe, feel, look, and touch of your wedding or event. That is what I mean by style. The stylist of my wedding knew every single inch of my wedding backwards and forwards, and she was given total control of the final "look" on the wedding day. When I arrived at the wedding venue, she was the one who walked me through each piece of my wedding venue. I definitely trusted my amazing florist, cake artist, caterer, and coordinator, but at the end of the day, my stylist was the one who knew EXACTLY what I wanted my wedding to feel and look like.
One of my friends had an experience this weekend where she had only hired a coordinator, and this coordinator claimed she could style, coordinate, do the florals, and decorate the entire wedding, no problem. My friend paid quite a large amount of money for these services, and when she arrived at her wedding venue at 5PM, hair and makeup done, she was devastated to see that NOTHING was set up. Nothing. She told me today, "Kristin, I wish I had you there. I should have gone with my gut and had you come. I know you would have done an amazing job and turned around the whole feel of the day."
I have had this same conversation with many of my future brides, and I thought it would be great to talk about on the blog. While there may be some people talented enough to pull off coordination AND styling, recycled&LOVED sticks to just the style and rentals piece. I personally think that a coordinator's job is big enough without having to try and make sure your wedding or event looks amazing as well as flows perfectly.
So, if you already have a coordinator hired, and you just want that extra push to make sure your wedding looks perfect, give me a call. I am ready for you!
PS. Speaking of style, check out a sneak peek of a styled shoot I did with Katie Lamb this past week over at her blog....

styled wedding shower: love, lemonade, & lingerie
Category: bride, lemonade, love, styled, styled shoot, wedding showerAuthor: Unknown
This weekend I helped to style an amazingly cute shower with the theme Love, Lemonade, and Lingerie. (You know I love my themes.) My client was someone I work out with at Pearland Crossfit (her daughters are actually the owners) , and when she approached me with the idea for the shower, we were off and running with ideas. The bride, Amber, is getting married in May in the Hill Country, and I cannot wait to see pictures from her wedding!
I arrived at this AMAZING beach house to set-up, and she had already done so much! It was precious with the lemons and pink roses everywhere, and the addition of some of my inventory was just the icing on the cake. So, here are some pictures of the event!
Thanks for letting me help out Kay! It was so fun!

I am so excited to show ya'll some of my recent finds! I went to one of my favorite antique stores in Brenham and got these amazing books. I always love the Readers Digest books because when you take off their jackets, they have such pretty covers and backs! Also, check out the title of the one with the yellow spine...."Happy Living: A Guidebook For Brides". Couldn't pass that one up!
A good friend Katherine give me these amazing clear bottles for my birthday! Look how sweet they are, with "O-so Good" and "Dream" printed on them. These would look great mixed with some other clear and brown bottles bursting with wildflowers!
Again on my Brenham trip, I stopped by to see my friend/baker/styled shoot partner Haley at her new shop The Garden Market and Bakery. I just had to buy that chalkboard pie tin! As she was ringing me up, she asked if I wanted it cleaned, and I told her No! I like it just how it is! Another new piece that I have added to the collection is the cute small nightstand. Annie's mom gave it to r&L for my use, and I cannot wait to use it in a shoot! All she needs is a drawer pull for that top spot, and she's ready to go.
Last but not least, check out these amazing shutters! How great would they be for an aisle entrance, as a seating card holder, or as a dessert display backdrop? I cannot wait for some bride to snatch these up and make them her own. The possibilities are endless! Oh, and as for that random piece of scrap wood in the center--I have some big plans for that guy. It will be cleaned up and made into yet another chalkboard in the r&L collection!

I am so excited to share with you all a SNEAK PEEK of my very first styled shoot with Katie Lamb Photography! Our models, Annie and Travis, are actually some of my best friends. Annie and I grew up together and have been very close since we were in diapers. Annie and Travis are getting married on March 9th, and I am so honored to be her Matron of Honor!
We held the shoot at the amazing ShowBoat Drive-In, out in Hockley, and the owner Dolly was so great to let us in early and use the venue as we wished. We also worked with the amazing Kimberly from Arteflora for the bouquet in the shoot. Annie's dress is from Forever 21 and was altered by Kristin from Kristin Johnston Bridal. (Fun fact: Kristin also altered Annie's dress for the upcoming wedding, as well as my own bridal gown back in May 2012!) Travis' pants and shirt came from Jos A Banks, while his tie and hat were both Forever 21 finds.
Katie and I are so pleased with the way that this shoot worked out, and we cannot wait to show you guys the rest! And don't you worry...we have another styled shoot heading your way very soon!
